A Season of Growth

2025 has been a season of change, and our team expanded to 12 members, welcoming five incredible new additions. Each brought their own story of challenge, resilience, and triumph.

Christa Bell

Her very first year in archery, and she already earned provincial gold and silver medals in Barebow.

William Handfield-Paré

(At 15 years old) After only two years of training at SDC, William now dominates not only his Cadet U18 category but also U21. He even went toe-to-toe with the **toughest division—Senior (21+)—**as well as the Masters (50+) at both Canada Cup East and the Québec Provincials, walking away with silver and bronze medals.

Sarvva Ganji

Her first year in Canada brought her first medal here too. A former Iranian national team member and now our Strength & Conditioning coach, she lifts both the team’s performance and spirit.

Vincent Raimbault

After a long, nagging injury forced him away from archery, Vincent made his return this season and celebrated it with his first medal back.

Jean-François Lavergne

(Para Team) A story so inspiring it deserves its own spotlight soon. Still, he’s already added gold at the Chicago Open Para Cup and gold at the Canada Cup East to his growing legacy.

Medals, Records, and Milestones

This was our strongest year yet:

4 new national records

8 new provincial records

20 medals across provincial, national, and international competitions

Compared to 2023’s 5 members and 8 medals, then 2024’s 8 members and 11 medals, this year’s 12 members and 20 medals prove one thing: when we trust the process, the results come.

More Than Medals: Team Spirit

Behind the records lies the true essence of SDC’s HP team: having fun, trusting each other, and pushing through adversity—whether that’s the pressure of competition, personal struggles, or the occasional bad day at practice.

The energy in our training hall is more than discipline—it’s laughter, encouragement, and the reminder that archery is as much about community as it is about aim.

Coaching edge

Majid Ahmadi

This year we welcomed Coach Majid Ahmadi, a former Iranian National Head Coach and world-ranked compound archer. Coach Majid has led Iran’s national and para-archery teams to international success, including silver and bronze medals at the Paris Paralympics. His experience, knowledge, and vision add a powerful new chapter to SDC’s journey.

Sarvva Ganji

Alongside him, Sarvva Ganji ensures our athletes are stronger, fitter, and healthier through world-class strength and conditioning. Galina Semenova guides the mental game with sports psychology, helping archers perform under pressure and build resilience.

Bryan Nguyen

Together, these specialists allow Head Coach Bryan Nguyen to bring the best scientific approach to archery training, combining physical preparation, mental strength, and technical mastery into one cohesive program.

Eyes on 2026

After a short two-week break, our athletes are back to training with sharper focus, higher aspirations, and the hunger to climb even further.

We’re also thrilled to announce the return of Felipe Galvis, once a standout on Colombia’s Youth National Team. After a year-long break, Felipe is eager to step back into competition with renewed hunger.

The year ahead will bring tougher challenges—but with our growing team, international coaching, and the spirit of trust and fun that defines SDC, we’re ready to face them together.

⚡ This isn’t just about medals—it’s about resilience, community, and trusting the process. At SDC, we’re not just building archers. We’re building people who aim high—in sport and in life.
